What we measure
- Latency — the time for a small request to round-trip to Cloudflare's edge. Lower is better. Under 30ms is excellent for most uses.
- Jitter — the variance in latency. High jitter causes choppy video calls and unstable gaming.
- Download — your bandwidth pulling data from Cloudflare. Affects streaming, browsing, and downloads.
- Upload — your bandwidth sending data. Matters for video calls, file sharing, and self-hosting.
Tests use Cloudflare's free public speed-test endpoints. Your data isn't sent to us — it goes directly between your browser and Cloudflare.
