These terms govern your use of showmyipaddress.io (the "site"). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the site.
The service
The site is a free utility for checking IP addresses, looking up IP / hostname / WHOIS / ASN information, and reading articles about networking, IP addresses, and online privacy. We provide it as-is and may add, remove, or change features at any time without notice.
Acceptable use
You may use the site for personal, educational, and commercial purposes. You agree not to:
- Use the site for unlawful purposes or to violate any laws.
- Send automated traffic that exceeds reasonable rate limits or interferes with the site's operation. Casual scripted use is fine; sustained high-rate scraping is not.
- Attempt to access non-public parts of the site, exploit vulnerabilities, or otherwise interfere with security.
- Use the site to launch attacks, send spam, or conduct harassment.
- Republish substantial portions of our written content without attribution and a link back. Direct quotations and short excerpts are fine; wholesale republishing is not.
- Misrepresent the site, its operators, or any content as your own.
Data accuracy and use of information
The IP geolocation, ASN, and WHOIS data shown on the site come from third-party providers and registries. This data can be inaccurate or out of date. Do not rely on the site as the sole source of truth for legal, security, investigative, or business decisions. You're responsible for verifying any information that materially affects you.
The site is not a private investigation service. We do not identify individuals from IP addresses, and we do not respond to requests to do so.
Third-party services
The site queries third-party providers (listed in our privacy policy) to fulfill tool requests. We don't control these providers and aren't responsible for their availability, accuracy, or content. Your use of those services is subject to their own terms.
Intellectual property
The site's name, logo, design, and original written content are ours. You may not copy substantial portions of the design or content without permission. Tool source code, where published, is governed by the license declared on its repository (if any).
No warranty
The site, tools, and content are provided "as-is" and "as-available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including (but not limited to) warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that the site will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.
Limitation of liability
